Burton Constable Hall
aerial photograph of Burton Constable Hall Yorkshire England UK. While most of what we see to day is Elizebethan, parts of the home date back to the 12th Century when a Pele Tower was built to defend the local area..The grounds of the house originally contained a medieval field system and village which was replaced by a deer park in 1517. The grounds were landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown between 1772 and 1782, however the the angle of this photograph shows the outline of the medieval archeology with a field and roadway system at the top of the image and a curious rectangular platform on the left.
