River Tyne bridges the air
aerial photograph of Tyne Bridge over the River Tyne in Newcastle upon Tyne. Opened in 1928 the Tyne Bridge uses a parabolic arch designed by the engineers Mott, Hay and Anderson. The design was subsequently used as a model for the Sydney Harbour Bridge which was built by Dorman Long of Middlesbrough in 1932. The Tyne Bridge was opened on the 10th October 1928 by King George V and Queen Mary.
