The image shows the Tom Quad which was begun by Cardinal Wolsey in 1525 to 1529 but never fully completed and the the Great Dining Hall where Charles I held parliament during the English Civil War. In the background is Christ Church Cathedral originally built in the 12th century as part of St Frideswide's Priory.
