aerial photograph of Blackburn Cathedral Lancashire England. Blackburn Cathedral was constructed as a parish church in 1826 and became the towns cathedral in 1926. The original building was designed by architect John Palmer but was significantly altered and enlarged in the 20th century including the construction of the lantern tower in 1967. The building was finaly completed in 1977.
