Byker Wall the air

The Byker Wall is a radical social housing project designed by Ralph Erskine and construected between 1969 and 1982. The project was intended to replace Victorian and the high rised buildings on the periphery are intended to shield the inner dwellings from road noise. The estate is Grade II listed and is on UNESCO's list of outstanding twentieth century buildings
