Cannock Chase Prisoner of War camp (POW Camp)from the air
aerial photograph showing the remains of Cannock Chase Prisoner of War camp (POW Camp)Staffordshire near the village of Brocton. The POW cam was used during the first world war (WW1). The images were taken 100 years after the end of the war and still show much of the layout of the camp. During the war the prisoners built a model of the Messines Ridge battle field complete with all the trench layouts. This was recently uncovered during an archaeological dig but has since been covered over again to preserve it.
