aerial photograph of Glastonbury Tor Somerset England UK. The hill itself is a natural Sandstone formation, however it has been shaped in the distant past with terracing along its slope. Evidence of occupation has been found going back to the Iron Age. At the summit are the remains of the medieval church of St Micheals which was built in the 14th century. There are many myths and legends linking Glastonbury Tor to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and today its one of the top tourist destinations in the area and stands under the care of the National Trust..
