Glastonbury Abbey aerial photograph
aerial photograph of Glastonbury Abbey Somerset England UK. Founded in the 7th century Glastonbury Abbey was once one of the wealthiest monasteries in England. Unfortunately this wealth led to it being a prime target during the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII. Henry had the last Abbot, Richard Whyting, hung drawn and quartered on Glastonbury Tor in 1539.
