St Botolph's Church, Boston Lincolnshire, England UK. aka the "Boston Stump" aerial photograph
aerial photograph of St Botolph's Church, Boston Lincolnshire, England UK. aka the "Boston Stump". The Grade I listed St Botolph's Church at 83m is amongst the tallest Medieval towers in England and one of the countries largest parish Churches. The Church was constructed in stages with the Chancel, nave and aisles constructed 1309 to 1390. and the tower built fro around 1450 to its completion in 1520. The tower was particularly well built for the medieval period and has stood without major structural renovations ever since. It is one of the few surviving towers with an octagonal lantern. The church replaced an older building of Norman origins which itself may have replaced a Saxon church.
