f St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray
aerial photograph of St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, UK. Most of what we see today dates to the medieval period in the 13th to 15th centuries however the lower part of the tower is Norman and dates from the 12th century. Its very likely that it replaced a Saxon Church on the same site. Although it is only a parish church, its built more in the style of a Cathedral and dominates the town today just as it did nearly a thousand years ago.
