Elizabeth I celebrated her Birthdays here and Horse Guards have been stationed here since the restoration of the monarchy in 1660. The Horse Guards building in the top of the photo used to be British Army Headquarters. . The Duke of Wellington had is office here which is still used by the Army. Horse Guards Parade is most famous for Trooping the Colour which takes place here every year.
