aerial photograph of the Long Man of Wilmington East Sussex England UK
aerial photograph of the Long Man of Wilmington on Windover Hill East Sussex England UK. The exact origins of this geoglyph are unknown, however it was depicted in a surveys drawing dated 1710 so it was known to exist then. It was long thought to date from the bronze age due to the adjacent bronze age burial mounds, however recent scientific examination suggests that it may have been created around the 16th or 17th Century.
