aerial photograph of Riber Castle Matlock lDerbyshire England UK. Built in 1862 by a Mr John Smedley from which the buildings nickname is "Smedley's Folly" is derived. After the last of the Smedley family residents passed away the house was used a school and then during the war the MOD used it for storage. Later a zoo was built around the house but this closed in 2000. Since then the building has been restored and converted into apartments.
