aerial photograph of Wymondham Abbey Norfolk England UK.
aerial photograph of Wymondham Abbey Norfolk England UK. Founded in 1107 as a Benedictine Priory the church originally served as both Parish Church and Abbey. When Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries the section of the building used as the Parish Church was retained while the other parts of the monastic buildings were slowly robbed of stone until almost nothing was left. The current building is only half the size it once was.
