Launde Abbey Leicestershire, from the air
aerial photograph of Launde Abbey Leicestershire England UK. The building we see today is an Elizabethan manor house, however the lighting of this aerial photo shows the archaeological remains of the built Augustinian priory, which preceded it. The Priory was founded in 1119 and active until dissolved by Henry VIII. The chapel attached to the rear of the house remains from the original medieval Priory.
