St Peter and St Paul's Church, Ormskirk aerial photograph
aerial photograph of St Peter and St Paul's Church, Ormskirk Lancashire UK. The Grade II listed Church of St Peter and St Paul dates from the 12th century with later additions and is most unusual in having both a spire and a tower. There are only 3 such churches in England. There was probably a Saxon church on the site before the current building and some elements of the earlier structure may have been incorporated into the present building. The spire dates from the 14th century although it was rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries. The tower was built 1540 to 1450.
