Lune Millennium Bridge Lancaster aerial photograph
aerial photograph of the Lune Millennium Bridge Lancaster Lancashire England UK. As the name suggests, the Lune Millennium Bridge was built in the year 200 to celebrate the Millennium. Its a Cable-stayed footbridge spanniing the River Lune and designed by Whitby Bird . it is built on roughly the same site as the 13th century Old Loyne Bridge which was demolished in 1802. Strangely they only demolished one arch of the bridge and the rest was allowed to fall down over the next 40 years with the last pier faling into the river in 1845.
