aerial photograph of Haven Street Station on the the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Opened in1875 as part of the Ryde and Newport Railway the Station fell victim to Dr Beeching in 1966 but was reopened as a preserved steam railway in 1971. The photo shows Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST WD198 Royal Engineer pulling into the station with a train fully loaded with enthusiastic passengers.The loco was built for the Army in 1953 and wasn't actually withdrawn from service until 1991 at which point she was the last Army Steam Loco.
