Grade II listed Larkrigg Hall Bridge was built in 1818 and designed by William Crosley Jr. The canal Link through Sedwick to Kendal was opened in 1819 and finally severed by the construction of the M6 motorway in the 1960s. There are plans by the Northern Reaches Restoration Group to reopen the canal to Kendal
